Mission and vision

St Ann’s Hospice supports patients, their families and carers.

Our mission and vision

Having a life-limiting illness is something for which no one is prepared, and for many (and those around them), it is the most difficult of times.

St Ann’s Hospice offers the highest levels of support and palliative care, both through its hospices and within the community, to provide people who have life-limiting illnesses with both dignity and greater quality of life.

Our role within the Greater Manchester community is to support those with life-limiting illnesses – and their carers, families and children. We take a wider approach than just medical care alone - looking at the ‘whole needs of the whole person’, whether that is physical, psychological, practical, emotional or spiritual.

Our aims

Our aims are to:

  • provide the highest levels of support and care to our patients - and their carers and families.
  • be a recognised leader in specialist palliative care.
  • work as an integrated part of the Greater Manchester community.
  • be an excellent place for people to work.
  • make a real difference to people’s lives.

As people get to know St Ann’s Hospice, and lose their preconceptions of what a hospice is about, they find that our work does make a real difference to people – whether they are patients in our care, or families of patients who are struggling to come to terms with the illness of a loved one. We help people through those most difficult of times.
