Actions taken from your feedback
Here are some of the actions from cards posted in our red comments boxes in March and April 2011.
- A weekly bulletin is currently being developed to inform staff of Hospice events, to aid future communications.
- Future plans for increasing merchandise sales in the Hospices will include note-lets and books.
- Due to financial reasons, it is not possible to install a ramp at the Ladybarn 2 shop. The shops aim to support wheelchair users by bringing items to the shop door and allowing them to take items home to try on.
- The Heald Green coffee shop will reinstate the use of a radio, tuned to Smooth FM, following suggestions of its benefits.
- We are unable to investigate an anonymous comment regarding a piece of black plastic in a Heald Green sandwich. We urge anyone to inform a member of the kitchen staff immediately if this occurs again.
- Adjustments have been made to ventilation and the door in the Heald Green smoking room, following comments regarding smoke drifting to wards/corridors.
- We are currently unable to provide a bike shed due to financial reasons; however a cycle rack is at Heald Green for staff and volunteers.
- Concern was expressed regarding the cost of sending individual letters to inform employees of the 1% pay rise, following an email which contained the same information. The Executive Team discussed at length the appropriate way of communicating news about the 1% pay rise. The team understand the concern but had responded to a previous request asking for it to be individualised, and appreciate that there will be a mixed view on this. A view will be taken from the Executive Team and Staff Representatives for next year.
- The new beakers in the coffee shop were kindly donated and in light of the current economic climate, it is felt inappropriate to purchase more just because of their appearance. However, the original beakers will be returned to the coffee shop
- Concern was expressed that the Heald Green patients menu did not include fish on Good Friday. This was in response to a request from Day Care patients who wanted a change from fish. Unfortunately the change coincided with Good Friday.
- The use of artwork featuring children will be reviewed, as part of the plan to increase fundraising information displayed in the public areas.
