Complementary therapies

Complementary Therapies have become increasingly popular as patients find them helpful and enjoyable. At St Ann’s Hospice we offer a choice of four therapies which can help to relieve stress and tension, promote feelings of welbeing and aid relaxation.

Counselling

Grieving and bereavement

Grief is the normal reaction we have to any major loss in our life. Adjusting to the loss of an important person and the changes this may bring to our lives can be a painful and stressful experience. However, if we allow ourselves to go through this natural process, we are more likely to be able to enjoy meaningful, satisfying and fulfilling lives again.

Guidance for inpatients

The Inpatient units can be found on two sites – Heald Green, Stockport and Little Hulton, Worsley. People are referred to the Inpatient unit for different reasons. These may include: Control of symptoms, eg. pain or nausea; Rehabilitation following treatment; Care for patients at the end of life.

Copying letters to patients

Patients can now, if they wish, receive a copy of any letter written about them by a doctor following an outpatient appointment, daycare visit, an inpatient admission or a home visit.
