Organise a Clothes Swap Shop and you and your friends, family and colleagues could have a whole new wardrobe!
You can organise a St Ann’s Swap Shop in any way you like, and it doesn’t always have to be just clothes either. It can be anything that you and your friends are interested in - from kids clothes and toys, to books and accessories such as hats and bags – anything goes!
It’s so simple!
The basic idea is that you arrange for some people to get together, they pay an entry fee to get in and bring items of clothing, then everyone has a rummage and takes home up to three items for free!

To make it even easier to organise your Swap Shop, we have put together a pack that will help you get people along to your event and ensure it runs smoothly. Just register your details using our brief online form and we will send you a pack either by email or post, whichever you prefer.
The pack contains:
- Poster
- Invites
- Passport (ticket)
- Return form
- Top tips and what you might need at your event
Top ten tips!
To help you get started, here are our top 10 tips to setting up a St Ann’s Clothes Swap Shop:
- Choose a date (giving yourself enough time to organise the event!)
- Invite your friends, family and colleagues (use the invite templates included in the pack)
- If you are organising a St Ann’s Clothes Swap Shop on a larger scale such as in a church hall or function room – place an advert in the local press and use our poster templates to advertise in local businesses
- Gather together some good quality items for your St Ann’s Clothes Swap Shop such as clothes, hand bags, shoes, hats and jewellery – and ask your guests to do the same
- Plan ahead (see our Swap Shop pack for necessary items you will need on the night such as clothes rails)
- Charge all your guests an entry fee of at least £5
- Give each guest a swapping passport (use template provided)
- Set a maximum number of items each guest can take home – using their swapping passport. Set a cost for any additional item.
- Enjoy your St Ann’s Swap Shop!
- Any left over items would be gratefully received at your local St Ann’s Hospice Charity Shop.
