The course remains unchanged for 2010, starting on the track at Meadowbank Stadium, the route then takes runners out of central Edinburgh to the Firth of Forth coast at Portobello before heading southwards towards a grandstand finish at Musselburgh Racecourse.

The race is open to all runners aged 17 years and older on 18th April 2009.

Shuttle buses will be operating after the race to ferry runners from the racecourse finish at Musselburgh back to the start at Meadowbank Stadium.
