New Clinical Director

A warm welcome to our new Clinical Director, Esther Kirby, who joined us in March from her previous role as Nurse Director of Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Services Network based in Preston.

Esther, who will be responsible for all our nursing and clinical services, comes with specialist experience in palliative care, and has been involved in working with the national Cancer Action Team on several pieces of work.

“My interest in palliative care started when working in St Helens and Knowsley in the community," she said. “That interest has never left me, and it has remained a passion of mine throughout my career. I am delighted to have joined St Ann’s, and am looking forward to working with everyone here.
“I hope to put all my experience from community and specialist nursing, acute and network leadership roles to good use.”
