Celebrities
sowed seeds of forget-me-nots (our flower emblem) to remind supporters to sign
up for our spectacular Manchester Midnight Walk fundraising event on May 23,
sponsored by Addleshaw Goddard. Key 103 radio presenter Chelsea Norris, BBC North West Tonight’s Gordon
Burns and Corrie-star Sue Nicholls (pictured) planted the seeds in specially
dedicated flower beds in Parsonage Gardens just behind Kendals store. The flowers
will bloom in May to coincide with our walk.
A limited number of seed packs, kindly donated by Bridge Street Garden Centre
of Swinton, will be given out free on a first come first served basis to those
who have registered for the walk. St Ann’s supporters will also be welcome
to plant their own seeds in the flower bed in memory of a loved one.
Last year’s first Midnight Walk attracted over 1,000 people, raising
more than £82,000. With over 700 walkers registered already, we are looking
to at least double the number taking part. The 10 km (one line) walk through
the city centre will again kick off from Manchester City Football Club’s
ground at the City of Manchester Stadium. To sign up for the walk, download
a registration form at www.manchestermidnightwalk.org.uk
or to volunteer to help out on the night, phone our Fundraising Office on 0161
498 3631.
