  • Wear Yellow: Ask people to make a £1 donation to come in wearing something yellow for the day - or £2 if they don’t join in! You can go from simple to extreme – yellow socks, yellow t-shirt, or come in as Bananaman, the Simpsons, Big Bird or Spongebob Squarepants!
  1. Cook something yellow or get your canteen to put
    something yellow on the menu
  • Organise a sponge throwing competition, nominate

items donated and raffle them off
  • Yellow poem competition - can you write a poem inspired by the colour yellow?
  • Design an Eye Spy competition. Pay £1 to take part to find all the yellow answers.
  • Yellow word game - pick a word at the beginning of the day and substitute it for the word Yellow. Each time they forget, they have to donate 10p.
  • Who is brave enough to sit in a bath of custard? Why not get sponsored to do it? The local papers will love it
  • Custard eating competition - Who can eat the most custard? Or any other yellow food substitute. Bananas? Lemons? Sweetcorn? Pineapple?
  • Decorate your workplace or classroom yellow
  • Who can make the longest yellow paperchain?
  • Hold a tribute to yellow, sing a selection of yellow themed songs and have a collection for St Ann's

  • Organise a yellow Art Competition

  • Go Blonde: Find out if blondes really do have more fun by sponsoring a colleague to dye their hair blonde or sponsoring male colleagues to wear a gorgeous blonde wig for the day.

  • Code Yellow: At the start of the day, choose a word and substitute it for the word “yellow”. Each time someone forgets, they have to make a donation as a forfeit!

  • Yellow-bellies: Sponsor a colleague to overcome a fear. Why not try a skydive?!

  • Yellow Forfeits: Set a challenge (for example, raise £50 in a day), with a yellow-food forfeit if the target is missed, eg: eat a lemon or a spoonful of English mustard.

  • Guess Yellow: Fill a jar with yellow sweets and run a “guess the number of sweets in the jar” competition.

  • Sunny Money: A really simple fundraiser which everyone can play – and where you might win too! Ask colleagues to write their name on a Sunny Money square in return for a £2 donation, and when the sheet is full put all entries in a draw. Half the money gets banked through the till for the hospice, and the other half goes to the name picked out. You can even print more from the intranet and play every week during Go Yellow Month!

  • Mellow Yellow: Give yourselves a day to mellow out by getting someone else to do all the jobs you hate! Sponsor a colleague to give the team a break by making the teas, fixing the printer, and doing all the tedious odd-jobs for the day.
