Make a donation in memory
‘I will be raising funds for St Ann’s so that other people’s last days together can be as good as ours’, Judith Lacy from Altrincham.
How we helped Judith Lacy’s husband, Kev
Judith’s husband, Kev, spent nine days with us at St Ann’s, and she wishes they’d come here sooner. She feels that the respect and dignity her husband was given was – simply – inspirational. “And the staff didn’t just care about Kev. The rest of his family and I were given much-needed support; and it was given freely.”
“It was the small things that made such a big difference. Being able to sit down and eat a meal together after a hectic time in hospital. Being able to sleep in his room. That removed a great deal of stress and anxiety. Small things that might not sound much, but when you have so little time, they’re invaluable.”
How you can make a gift in memory of a loved one
There are many ways in which you can celebrate the life of a loved one and we would like to help you try and find the right one for you. If your loved one was cared for at St Ann’s Hospice, you may have experienced firsthand how important our services are to patients, families, friends and carers, to people like you.
If you would like to talk through how best to make a donation in memory, please ring or write to us. You can ring Wendy Bray on 0161 498 3631, email her on wbray@sah.org.uk, or write to her at the main administration site: St Ann’s Hospice, St Ann’s Road North, Heald Green, Cheadle, Cheshire SK8 3SZ.
General donations
If you would like to make a donation of any amount to St Ann’s and make it in memory of a loved one, there are many ways to donate – you can either do this online now, or by post or in person at one of our Hospice sites or one of our charity shops. You can make a one-off gift or regular gift.
If you donate online there is a space on the form for you to put the name of your loved one.
Donations instead of flowers
Some people prefer that flowers are not given for a funeral and a donation be made to charity instead. If you would like this charity to be St Ann’s Hospice, please ask your funeral director and they will arrange it. Or you can call us on 0161 498 3631.
St Ann’s Hospice tribute funds
A St Ann’s Hospice tribute fund is one way of celebrating the life of a loved one. Named after the person who has died, it gives friends, family and colleagues an opportunity to raise money to directly help St Ann’s Hospice provide care for other patients with life threatening illnesses.
Family, friends and colleagues can also be invited to contribute in any way they can, for any length of time, in whatever way feels right for them. For more details please visit our tribute fund pages.
