St Ann’s tribute funds

A St Ann’s Hospice tribute fund is one way of celebrating the life of a loved one. Named after the person who has died, it gives friends, family and colleagues an opportunity to raise money to directly help provide care for other patients.

Joanne Riley raised more than £1,000 in memory of her husband by joining in a sponsored parachute jump. Joanne, from Kersal, and friends who joined her in the sky-high jump raised more than £3,000 between them in memory of her husband, Steve, who died last year. “Steve asked me to do the jump for St Ann’s,“ said Joanne, “and I promised him I would not go back on my word no matter how scared I was.” Steve’s family have so far raised more than £11,000 for St Ann’s in his memory.

How do tribute funds work?

A St Ann’s Hospice tribute fund is one way of celebrating the life of a loved one. Named after the person who has died, it gives friends, family and colleagues an opportunity to raise money to directly help St Ann’s Hospice provide care for other patients with life threatening illnesses.

Family, friends and colleagues can also be invited to contribute in any way they can, for any length of time, in whatever way feels right for them.

Any donation, however big or small, can be placed in the tribute fund you set up, and you can choose many different ways to contribute. You can do any form of fundraising for St Ann’s Hospice and have the money raised go directly into your loved one’s tribute fund. Lots of ways to donate are included on the right hand side of this web page. 

For example, some people choose to simply make regular donations to the fund, others prefer to take part in sponsored activities like the Great North Run or sponsored walks. Any type of event or activity can be organised, and a dedicated member of staff will be on hand to support you and manage your tribute fund.

How to set up a tribute fund
