‘St Ann’s Hospice gave both me and my wife the vital emotional strength we needed to get through very difficult times’ Paul Nicholson, Urmston. There are many ways you can support us...

Donate online now to St Ann’s Hospice
St Ann’s Hospice supports thousands of people every year – those with life-limiting illnesses and those who care for them. Every donation, no matter how large or small, helps us to provide our services.

Appeal from the director of clinical services
In our recent appeal for donations, Esther Kirby, Director of Clinical Services, talks about why it is so important to support St Ann’s Hospice and help our patients, their families, friends and carers.

Ways to donate
There are three very easy ways to donate to St Ann’s Hospice – from an online donation to sending a cheque by post or calling in to one of our sites where a member of staff would be pleased to accept your donation.

Make a one-off donation
A donation at any level helps us to continue providing the highest standards of care. Take a look at some of the things your support will make possible...

Make a regular donation
Every contribution makes a real difference. For example a small, regular gift of £3 a month allows St Ann’s Hospice to plan ahead more effectively, knowing that money is coming in each month to help support the specialist services we provide for our patients, their families and carers.

Gift Aid, Tax and Payroll
If you are a UK taxpayer, please help us reclaim money from the Inland Revenue – last year we received over £160,000 back from the government. It doesn’t cost the donor anything and it’s as simple as ticking a box! There are more tax benefits listed that can benefit St Ann’s...

Become a patron
Chelsea Norris of Manchester’s Key 103 is proud to be a Patron and support St Ann’s Hospice: “I’m so happy to be a patron of St Ann’s Hospice. It’s a charity close to my heart as I lost my Grandad to cancer. The work they do is incredible, but they couldn’t do it without your help.”

Donations in celebration
We can’t deny it’s always nice to receive a gift on your birthday or anniversary…but it’s nice to give one too! Why not consider asking your family and friends to make a donation to St Ann’s for your special day instead of gifts?

Just Giving
Justgiving is ideal for getting people to sponsor you online. It’s easy, quick and tax-friendly. Charities can raise much more for sponsored events online. Events such as our Manchester Midnight Walk and Lock Up Your Boss have increased their total donations from using Justgiving. Just look at www.justgiving.com/stannshospice to see how easy it is!

Take a collection box or home money cube
Over £25,000 is donated to St Ann’s Hospice each year through collection boxes and home money boxes. People really don’t miss the odd change here and there and it makes a big difference to us!

Donate prizes, equipment and give gifts in kind
We are always grateful to companies and individuals who can donate gifts in kind for the Hospice and for fundraising. There are lots of ways you can support without giving cash...

Donate to our charity shops
Can you help us keep our charity shops full of great items to sell? As well as our shops selling all the items you would expect like books, clothes and CD’s, we also have a furniture shop and a wedding shop.

Share-giving
The way to donate where the taxman pays you for your generosity!

Tax refund return
The paperwork-free way to donate! If you complete a Self Assessment tax Return and are then entitled to a tax refund, you can elect to have that refund donated automatically to charity.

Charitable trusts and major donations
Thanks to donations from a number of charitable trusts, organisations and individuals, we were able to completely re-develop the reception area of our Little Hulton site, pictured. Over £160,000 was raised last year from trusts. Here are examples of essential equipment and refurbishment of buildings that we are currently raising money for.

How to be a good giver
How do you know a charity is legitimate or if they are any good? What fundraising standards does a charity comply with? How do you know what the best way is for you to support a charity? Here are some tips from St Ann’s Hospice.
