"The goal of palliative care is achievement of the best possible quality of life for patients and their families." (WHO, 1996)Yet infection control can compromise the quality of care delivered by palliative care facilities, by promoting isolation and reducing the focus on holistic care. This conference poses the question: "How can we manage infection control for the protection of patients and staff whilst maintaining the principles of palliative care?" The conference will include presentations on:
