8 Fantastic Years!

During his time at St Ann’s Hospice Terry has helped to bring about many positive developments and raise the profile of the hospice and the work that we do both locally and nationally. He recently met with the Prime Minister to talk about hospice care. Here we reflect on some of his other personal highlights:

A Great Place to Work

“I am very proud that the hospice was named as one of the Sunday Times Top Ten Places to Work in the UK an incredible three times.”

Innovative Fundraising

“Thanks to Terry’s vision and support we have had the courage to develop innovative fundraising campaigns such as our hugely successful Manchester Midnight Walk which raised over £240,000 in 2009.”
Catherine Williams, Director of Fundraising and Communications

National Campaigning

“Terry’s sustained efforts have boosted the reputation and raised the profile of St Ann’s Hospice and the wider hospice movement.  His work as Chair of the North West Group of Hospices and North West Advisory Council Representative with Help the Hospices has helped to ensure that hospice issues remain up there on the political and public agendas.” Terry has also made appearances on BBC North West Tonight, The BBC Politics Show and Granada Reports as well as being interviewed for numerous radio broadcasts.

Investing in People

Great feedback from the latest and 4th Review Report from Investors in People! Staff and volunteers spoke to inspectors and the review praised the hospice for all aspects of its work including its strong management, the effectiveness and contribution of its staff and volunteers and for its standing within the community. It concludes: “Because it (the hospice) is strongly focussed on the quality of its care and its strengths in the community it is well placed for the future. The assessors congratulate the St Ann’s Hospice team on its achievements.”
