Didsbury pub raises thousands for St Ann’s
A hugely successful Black Tie Dinner was the latest fundraising event for St Ann’s Hospice to be held at The Metropolitan Pub in Didsbury.
Owners Simon and Jim Barker are big supporters of their local hospice, and hosted a range of different fundraising events in 2009 including a Golf Day and a visit from Santa on Christmas Eve.
In total the pub and its customers have raised a fantastic £4,000 for St Ann’s Hospice in the past year – and Simon and Jim are now hoping to raise a further £4,000 for the hospice over the next 12 months.
“The Metropolitan is a really great pub which puts on lots of different events for the local community, many of which are held to raise funds for St Ann’s Hospice, on a regular basis” says hospice fundraiser Louise Banks. “We would like to say a big thank you to owners Simon and Jim as well as their staff and customers for their continued support. St Ann’s Hospice needs to raise £16,000 in donations every single day in order to be able to offer its wide range of services to the local community so we are extremely grateful to The Metropolitan Pub for its fantastic efforts and wish everyone well with their fundraising target for this year.”
