Social care
Providing patients, their families, friends and carers with practical advice and support.
The spiritual and psychosocial team at St Ann’s Hospice are there to support patients and families in lots of different ways, including financial and legal matters, housing and care needs and with the emotional aspects of living with a life-limiting illness – anything a patient and their family may need to make things easier to cope with.
The team are also the link between the hospice and other organisations when arranging for a patient to go home from the hospice.
Like St Ann’s as a whole, the team often goes the extra mile to ensure that a person’s quality of life is as good as it can be. They recently organised a wedding for a gentleman who was an inpatient at our Heald Green hospice, complete with a bagpiper, wedding photographer and cake! The gentleman died two days later but had achieved his dream of marrying his long-term partner.
