Current Volunteer Opportunities

We have a number of opportunities available if you would like to volunteer in some way for St Ann's Hospice.

If you have any questions at all or would like to have an informal chat about any aspect of volunteering, please contact Louise Johnson on 0161 498 3653, email ljohnson@sah.org.uk.

Organists

Based at Little Hulton, Worsley

Come and join our team of voluntary organists, helping to enhance the experience of our patients, their families and visitors.

This group of committed individuals works in partnership with our team of chaplains within the supportive environment of our private, onsite Chapel.

There is an opportunity for you to help bring our organ to life by utilising your skills within the context of Sunday worship.

A maximum of one hour (4pm-5pm), once a month (Sundays) is all that is required.

For a free information pack please call Nina Savage,
Volunteer Services Officer on 0161 498 3653 or email nsavage@sah.org.uk

Your support is very much appreciated.

Can you help with Collections?

Collections at supermarkets, football grounds and in Town and City centres raise over £20,000 each year for St Ann's - a huge contribution.

Can you help us achieve our target for next year? Below are a list of collections coming up in 2006 and anytime you can spare is appreciated...

Static Collection Box Collectors

Can you spare a couple of hours a month to support
St Ann’s?
Do you have your own transport?
Are you aged between 17 and 75 years of age?

If you can answer YES to all of these questions please read on...

Charity Shop Volunteers

Do you have a passion for fashion?

Is retailing your thing?
(customer service, pricing stock, working the till)

Perhaps, you have an eye for design?
(arranging shop and window displays)

We raise thousands of pounds from our Charity Shops each year, which is then put towards improving patient care at each of our hospice sites. This fundraising is made possible by the work and commitment of our shop volunteers....

Volunteer Gardeners

Enthusiastic, volunteer gardeners are needed to help maintain the Hospice gardens and patio areas, making them more attractive and inviting for patients and their visitors.

Furniture Shop Assistant

Due to the increase in furniture donations we are now looking for individuals to offer their time, to support our dedicated shop manager helping to maximise sales.

Situated at 128 Mauldeth Road, Ladybarn our shop is just off Kingsway and stocks a wide range of good quality 'pre-loved' furniture at bargain prices. It caters for all tastes, from students looking to furnish their first flat or home, to the more discerning buyer looking to pick up an antique bargain.

Drivers

Many of our patients do not have their own transport and so rely heavily on our committed team of volunteer drivers to bring them into the hospice at Little Hulton to access our services.

We would like to increase our offer of free transport to allow more people to attend our Day Therapy Centre and benefit from the services on offer.
