A blog from Chelsea Norris – Ladies lunch
Chelsea tells us all about her ladies lunch and about why she supports St Ann's.
So…the big news is…I’m doing a Ladies Lunch. I’ve done them for the last 10 years and it didn’t seem right not to do one this year. A few women who have been to all of them have approached me to say: “How will we cope with no lunch?”. It made me chuckle but it also made me think – well, why should you have to, let’s do another! I didn’t see why this year should be any different. I wanted to help charities close to my heart and so this year the lunch will be in aid of St Ann’s Hospice and Once Upon A Smile.
I’ve been a patron of St Ann’s for 10 years. I was asked to go and have a look around when my Grandad had just passed away. I remember feeling angry and jealous that he didn’t get that amazing care. But I decided to become a patron when they asked, so I could help spread the word about the work of the hospice for people like my Grandad who couldn’t access the care of St Ann’s – and so they could reach more people.
I’ve supported all their events including the Ladies Fashion Lunches, Christmas and Spring/Summer Fairs as well as the Manchester Midnight Walk and the Light up a Life ceremonies at Christmas time.
Four years ago I asked them to help my Nan and they did – she passed away in their Little Hulton Hospice and the care she received was outstanding. I’ll never forget it.
It costs £16,000 a day to keep the doors open and with very little government funding they rely on charitable donations from me and you. They also work tirelessly to come up with new ways to bring money in and constantly arrange events that people can enjoy whilst again raising money.
I know St Anns Hospice are not doing their Ladies Fashion Lunch this year and so I’m keen to spread the word about this one.
It will be held on September 15th 2017 at the Hallmark Hotel, Handforth between 11-4pm.
There will be an after show party at Piccolino, Bramhall with *free drinks and canapes.
We have a welcome drink, two course lunch, prosecco bar, blow dry bar, makeover station, stalls selling homewares, clothing, and jewellery. We also have fabulous music, celebrity guests, musical performances, and an auction and raffle with dozens of prizes.
I would love you to come – and if you’ve been to any of my previous Ladies Lunches, you’ll know how fun they are!
Tickets are selling incredibly fast – grab yours here.
