Children walking

Parade in the Park is a 1km sponsored walk for children and families, to allow them to remember someone special, to raise money for St Ann’s and to have a fantastic afternoon full of fun!

The event is taking place on two days and at two parks in September so you can chose the one most convenient for you. You can join the parade in Wythenshawe Park on Sunday 23rd September, or Parr Fold Park in Walkden on Sunday 30th September. Both events start at 10am and are open to children of all ages.

Our Manchester Midnight Walk is such a popular event every year, with hundreds of supporters taking part in the 10km sponsored walk. However, that event is for people over the age of eleven, and we’ve had lots of feedback that families would like to do something similar with their younger children. That’s why we’ve decided to run this new event and we hope to see lots of children there having a great time, whilst also raising money for a fantastic cause. There will be lots of activities and entertainment to keep the little ones happy and busy, and on the walk itself there will be lots of surprises. There will also be a memory area, where participants can tie a ribbon with a message to a loved one if they chose to do so. Fancy dress is encouraged for children and adults alike.

It costs £7 for every child to take part, or for groups with 3 or more children it’s just £5 per child. Adults go free. To find out more and register for the event, please visit www.sah.org.uk/parade  or contact our Events Team on 0161 498 3631 or events@sah.org.uk.
