Local community helps raise £8,500 for St Ann’s

We are happy to announce that we raised a brilliant £8,500 at our series of summer fundraising events last month.

The money was raised at our annual Little Hulton and Heald Green summer fairs, and at a special afternoon tea event hosted in the Neil Cliffe Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended the events for all your generous support.

This was the first year that the Heald Green summer fair took place on the hospice site itself, and it proved to be a big success. Patients and their families enjoyed the opportunity to get involved in the activities available, and Lillian, one of our Day Care patients, even managed to win the ‘Name the Bear’ competition, bagging herself a huge cuddly bear!

We’re really proud to have been a part of our local communities for almost half a century, and it’s amazing that people from right across Greater Manchester support the hospice so generously. We were thrilled to see so many people at the recent events, and it was brilliant to have the support of so many local volunteers who made it all possible too. We need to fundraise around £20,000 every day to carry on providing our care, which is obviously difficult, but thanks to our amazing supporters we are able to continue providing our care free of charge to local patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
