Who will join our nurses on an abseil feat?

Four nurses holding a sign saying 'We're proud to support St Ann's' and cheering

A group of our nurses will be scaling new heights in aid of their patients, as they take on a daring abseil challenge – and are appealing for local people to join them.

Lynsey Ayers, Kat Pointon, Suzanne Vale, Kay Maddison and Kirsty Bull are taking part in a free hanging descent abseil from a gantry in the middle of Manchester Velodrome to raise money for St Ann’s.

As nurses, no two days are ever the same, but this is certainly pushing the boundaries of what we’re used to!  We’re excited and also nervous, but it’ll be amazing to take on the challenge in aid of our patients and their families. Working on the wards at St Ann’s we see first-hand the difference money raised from fundraising makes to the lives of our patients and their families.  We’d love as many people as possible to sign up to join us on the day.  It would be lovely to have as much support as possible, and it would certainly give us even more confidence for the challenge ahead! Lynsey Ayers, Ward Sister

The abseil challenge is taking place at the National Cycling Centre, Stuart Street, Manchester, M11 4DQ on 3 November.  There is a registration fee of £45 to take part, which will be refunded if you raise £200 in sponsorship.
