Take part in our Light Up a Life appeal and pay tribute to your loved ones while helping to support our patients
Our Light Up a Life appeal is a wonderful opportunity to make a very special dedication to your loved ones this Christmas.
Thousands of people have taken part in Light Up a Life over the last twenty two years by dedicating a light on one of the hospice’s Christmas trees in memory of a loved one, while making a donation to St Ann’s.
Every donation we receive helps us to continue looking after patients in Greater Manchester with cancer and other life-limiting illness- managing their symptoms, providing support, caring for people at the hospice or at home and providing end of life care.
This year you can dedicate a light in our virtual winter forest, which can include a photo and a message to someone special. You can also share your dedication with family and friends through your online network.
Alternatively you can dedicate a light by contacting us directly, which will give you the option to receive a commemorative card with the names of those you are remembering.
This is such a lovely appeal and every year I find it incredible to see all the lights on our Christmas trees, knowing that they represent some very special people. This year we wanted to open the appeal up to those who can’t get to the hospice to see the Christmas trees, or who would prefer to make a dedication they can see and share online.
Christmas can be a difficult time for those who have lost loved ones, and this appeal gives our supporters a way to honour their friends and family members, whilst supporting a local charity which help thousands of people from across Greater Manchester every year, right when they need it most. However you choose to dedicate a light, you will also be invited to attend a special Light Up a Life service. This year they will be held on:
- Sunday 2nd December (1pm, 2.30pm, 4.00pm) at Manchester Cathedral
- Monday 3rd December (6pm) at St Ann’s Hospice Little Hulton (outdoor)
- Wednesday 5th December (6pm) at St Peter’s Church, Hale
- Thursday 6th December (6pm) at St Ann’s Hospice Heald Green (outdoor)
