The charity event on Saturday, November 16, is organised by son Tabe Obaide to raise funds for St Ann’s who cared for her over a long period.

Mum-of-three Linda (54), who worked at Manchester Royal Infirmary, died in December 2015 and had been diagnosed with cancer 10 years earlier.

Tabe, brother  Nabeel and sister Afifa, are asking for donations for a raffle and silent auction.

It'll be an informal, fun evening with music and dancing and the more the merrier. That's what my mum would have liked. I'll never be able to repay St Ann's for their care, but I'll do my best. Doctors initially gave her less than 18 months to live but she refused to give up. She looked after everyone else before herself and would give the bin men, postman and lollipop man a present at Christmas. Of all the medical care she received, she had the best experience at St Ann's in Heald Green where the staff were so friendly and attentive. Tabe , Linda's son

A signed Man Utd shirt, weekend break and pamper day are among the many prizes being collected. Tickets at £20 are available from Tabe on 07764 997204 or email tabebadey@hotmail.com.
