It has been the most incredible year and I would like to thank everybody for their support and efforts to raise money for these two important charities in our city. The sky dive was an interesting way to raise money and it also helped to put an extra focus on the work of my charities Councillor Tanya Burch, Salford’s Ceremonial Mayor
This marks the second year in a row that a Ceremonial Mayor of Salford has selected St Ann’s as a charity with Councillor Gina Reynolds selecting the hospice for her term in 2023-24.
Speaking about her decision to choose St Ann’s as a charity at the beginning of her term, Councillor Tanya said: “I attended one of St Ann’s events last year at their Little Hulton site and I was so impressed. I had never been to a hospice before then, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. However as soon as I entered the car park I was greeted with such warmth by staff who were so caring. I had such a lovely experience meeting patients on the ward where there is so much joy, happiness and optimism.”
Fundraising Manager at St Ann’s Hospice, Lucy Green commented.
We are so grateful to Councillor Tanya Burch for selecting St Ann’s Hospice as her charity for her 2024-25 term as Ceremonial Mayor of Salford. St Ann’s has a large presence in the Salford community with our hospice in Little Hulton helping thousands of families in the area through difficult times. This money will go a long way to ensure we can continue the vital work we do for the Salford community and beyond Lucy Green, Fundraising Manager, St Ann’s Hospice
The Ceremonial Mayor is responsible for carrying out civic duties on behalf of the council. This is a different role to the elected Salford City Mayor.
