Cheers to you, from St Ann’s

Date: Wednesday 16th December

Time: 4:00pm – 4.45pm

Cost: Free

This December we’re hosting a special virtual event to express our gratitude to our corporate supporters who continue to work with and help St Ann’s during these difficult and uncertain times.

During the webinar we’ll have key hospice speakers who will share how your support has helped our teams to adapt throughout Covid-19, to continue to meet the needs of our patients. We’ll also be sharing our upcoming plans for our 50th birthday next year and the development of our new build at our Heald Green hospice site. As a special addition, we will have one of our supporters take part in the conversation to talk about the benefit of St Ann’s to the local community and his personal experience with our hospice.

This is a free Zoom event, that aims to give a ‘festive cheers’ to our corporate supporters. We are encouraging supporters to invite a business friend to join the webinar and find out more about St Ann’s and the vital work we do.

The Accumulator Challenge

The Accumulator Challenge is back for October 2019!

How much can you raise with £100?

All the money our teams accumulate will help St Ann’s continue to provide care to the thousands of local patients and their families we support each year.

Last year, law firm, Clarke Willmott won the accolade of ‘The Ultimate Accumulator’, raising an amazing £6,040. Thirty keen staff members saddled up on static bikes at their Manchester offices to cycle the equivalent distance between each of Clarke Willmott’s offices across the country. They even managed to rope in the presenter, Gethin Jones, to gain some extra publicity for the fundraising challenge!

We loved the Accumulator Challenge and of course, as lawyers, we like to win, but the main story here is the amount local businesses can raise in a short period of time when they get together and channel their efforts. We stand proudly behind the work St Ann’s does as many of our staff, including me, have had family members needing end of life hospice care. It was very humbling to visit the Heald Green hospice on the awards night and hear real-life stories about how fundraising really makes a difference.

Fancy having a weekly gin trolley at your work?

Watch this film featuring Jon, at Eversheds Sutherland, who explains why they took part in the Accumulator Challenge and some top tips!

We love the sound of the gin trolley! What would your tips be to raise money in the workplace?

Here’s a few top tips on how your team can be successful at the Accumulator Challenge:

  • Get active and organise a sports day! Hire out a sports hall with the money, and charge people to take part or watch.
  • As the Accumulator Challenge takes place in October, why not embrace the Halloween theme! Have a fancy dress day in the office or throw a Halloween themed party.
  • Plan lots of fun and varied events throughout the month. This brings in more sponsorship money and it’s a great way to bond as a team.
  • Try something new to keep your organisation engaged. It doesn’t have to be complicated, it just has to be fun!

Do you have what it takes to compete with local businesses to raise the most money and become The Ultimate Accumulator 2019?

The challenge offers a great team building opportunity, as well as an opportunity for competitive colleagues to put their ideas to the test. Sign up below or by calling 0161 498 3631 or emailing corporate@sah.org.uk.

The Accumulator Challenge

In October The Accumulator Challenge is back! Do you have what it takes to compete with local businesses to become The Ultimate Accumulator? From an initial £100 investment, how much can you raise in 31 days?

We are challenging your team to grow £100 into as much money as you can throughout October to see if you can be crowned The Ultimate Accumulator or win the prize of The Ultimate Innovator with the most innovative idea.

How does it work?

Apart from keeping it legal – the only limit is your imagination! We’re on hand to answer any questions that you might have. You’ll be invited to a launch and celebration event, giving you the chance to hear more about how your fundraising will make a difference and also hear what other teams have planned – if they’re willing to share!

The challenge offers a great team building opportunity, as well as an opportunity for competitive colleagues to put their ideas to the test!

It was a brilliant challenge to be part of, and we were overwhelmed by the support from our staff who had already taken part in so much fundraising this year. It was tiring, fun, rewarding and fantastic way of supporting an amazing charity.

Tracy Sweeting, Stockport Homes – Accumulator Challenge winners 2016

We have chosen St Ann’s Hospice as our local charity because it has touched quite a lot of our colleagues lives. We took part in the Accumulator Challenge last year and had so much fun doing it we thought we had to do it again this year! We’re hoping to raise more than we did last year with new and exciting events for everyone in the office.
