Our flagship fundraising event, the sponsored Manchester Midnight Walk, is back for its fourteenth year, and will take place on Friday 24th April. The 10k moonlit walk starts and finishes at the beautiful Manchester Cathedral, and we’re sticking with the wildly popular bee theme for 2020!

With a wonderful local band, the famous Rock Choir and a special guest leading the warm-up, we cant wait to see all of our supporters fired up and ready to hit the street course for St Ann’s.

Once you’ve registered, we’ll send you a pack which includes a sponsorship form, hints and tips on how you can raise money for the hospice, and more details on what you can expect on the night.

Did you know, £101.20 raised could provide a two hour specialist rehabilitation session for a patient? By signing up and pledging to raise at least £100 you will be making a difference to all those we help living with a life-limiting illness in the greater Manchester community. Thank you for your support and we hope you enjoy the walk.

Want to show your support for the hospice by completing your own 10km walk? We appreciate that not everyone is able to take part in our events in person but still want to take part and support our patients. We’d be delighted to welcome you onboard and appreciate your efforts for the hospice and all those we help. Simply set-up a JustGiving page on our campaign site, with lots of exciting details about your training and fundraising, remembering to explain that your event runs alongside the Manchester Midnight Walk and then you can share your story with us and your network.

We’re always looking for volunteers to help us out with our events, with numerous opportunities to get involved. For the Midnight Walk there are many and various ways to get involved, including running a stall, helping to set-up the cathedral venue or manning a special night time cheer station (drinks and snacks included!) around the 10km city centre course. If you would like to register your interest to volunteer for this event, please contact the events team on

Thanks to Betfred for being the headline sponsor for this event.

Group Head of Marketing at Betfred, Gemma Strath-Billington, said: “It’s an honour for Betfred to be sponsoring this fantastic event for the sixth year. The hospice is very close to Fred’s heart and his support has been a huge benefit to the hospice. The St Ann’s Team work endlessly to ensure that this event delivers on its fundraising goals. I look forward to attending and seeing the seas of yellow and black! Good luck to all the walkers taking part on Friday 24th April.”

Could your kids BEE part of it too?

The Manchester Midnight Walk is for anyone aged 11 and over, but if your children also fancy taking on a sponsored walk in aid of St Ann’s, click below to find out more about our Manchester Midday Walk.
