The Spiral Group, a company based in Bolton, has been supporting St Ann’s since 2019 when they took part in the Corporate Accumulator Challenge.

Director, Andy McCorquodale, wanted to support St Ann’s following the treatment of his late wife, Yvonne who spent time at our hospice.

He said:

I grew up just down the road from the St Ann’s site and in my teenage years (many years ago!) I even delivered morning papers to the reception. Due to this I have always known of St Ann’s and been keen to support them when I could. As with most people you never think you will need to use St Ann’s facilities however my wife became an outpatient there during her treatment for bowel cancer and enjoyed meeting other patients in her time there. When she moved to palliative care, she continued to attend the hospice as an outpatient before being admitted there and unfortunately passing away in the hospice in August 2013. At the time our daughter was 9 and even now and despite what happened she fondly remembers our trips to St Ann’s to see her mum because of the care that was shown to her when we visited. Such a thing should never happen but if it does all you ask is that your loved one is comfortable, well cared for, and shown respect. St Ann’s gave my wife Yvonne all of that and more.
