Gift Aid in our shops

You can make your donations to our shops go even further to raise vital funds for St Ann's by signing up for Retail Gift Aid.

It doesn’t matter if you are donating a sofa, a pair of shoes or a CD, so long as you are a taxpayer you can sign up for Gift Aid.

The government scheme allows charities to reclaim 25% from HM Revenue and Customs on the sale of donated goods, increasing the value of your donation at no extra cost to you.

The average bag of donated goods is worth £20 to St Ann’s, or £25 if Gift Aided. That is the cost of providing a complementary therapy session for one of our patients.

Everyone who signs up will be given a St Ann’s Gift Aid Donor Card and will receive regular notifications from us letting you know how much your donations have raised for the hospice. It takes less than a minute to sign up and you only have to register once.

The only information we require from you is your full name, home address and email address. You can either apply in one of our shops, fill in the form online or you can download and complete the form below and send it back to us at: St Ann’s Hospice Trading Co Ltd, St Ann’s Road North, Heald Green, Cheadle, Cheshire SK8 3SZ.

Gift Aid Declaration Form (shops)

I wish St Ann’s Hospice Trading Company Ltd. (SAHTC) to attempt to sell the goods on my behalf and that 2% (plus VAT) of the sale will be paid to SAHTC by way of commission. I own all items donated for sale and that they were obtained in a legal manner. I will be contacted by SAHTC if items I have donated are sold for more than £1,000 in total in a single calendar year. This is a HMRC requirement SAHTC must follow for the claim to be valid. I allow SAHTC to sell the items in whatever manner it decides in order to maximise the value of the sale and to allow SAHTC to dispose of those items which in SAHTC’s opinion have no saleable value. I am a UK Taxpayer and I agree to St Ann’s Hospice claiming tax on all donations I have made for the four years prior to this / today / any future donations until I notify you otherwise (please delete any that do not apply) as gift aid donations. I have paid or will pay an amount of UK income tax and/or capital gains tax for each tax year 6th April to 5th April that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities or CASC that I donate to will reclaim on my gifts for that tax year. I understand that other taxes such as VAT and council tax do not qualify. I understand the charity will reclaim 25p on every £1 that I give. I will notify SAHTC of any change in my details and/or tax details.
