Charity Shops

From Monday 15th June a select number of our shops will be opening their doors once again, and we’ll also be taking online orders, in line with government guidelines.

The following stores will be open but operating at reduced time from 11am – 4pm:

  • Edgeley – primarily stocks womenswear, baby clothes and buggies.
  • Stockport – a vintage shop that specialises in clothes, accessories, furniture and collectables.
  • Heald Green – a general shop that offers clothes for all sexes and age groups, as well as books, DVDs, CDs and shoes etc.
  • Altrincham – a wide selection of ladies’ wear and collectables.
  • Romiley – a general shop that offers clothes for all sexes and age groups, as well as books, DVDs, CDs and shoes etc.

Update: From Saturday 8th August our Monton, Sale and Cheadle shops, including our specialist bridal store will open. Following this, on Friday 14th August our Turves Road and Little Hulton shops will open and then on Wednesday 19th August our Ardwick furniture shop will open. These shops will also have a revised time of 11am-4pm, Monday to Saturday. Please note, the bridal shop will only be open to those with appointments, you can find out more below. Our Romiley and shop will also be closed on Mondays until further notice, while our Sale shop will only be open Friday and Saturday until September when the shop will open Tuesday to Saturday.

The safety of our staff and customers is a top priority, which is why the stores will be operating at reduced times from 11am – 4pm. In doing so, our team of volunteers can perform a deep clean on the premises, before and after each day. The shops above will be open Monday – Saturday, except for the Romiley shop which will be open Tuesday – Saturday. From Monday 7th September, the Romiley shop will be open on Mondays from 10am-4pm.

We will also be updating our donation policy and ask that donations are made on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, except for the Romiley shop, which will be accepting these on Wednesdays and Fridays and the Turves Road shop, which will be taking donations on Mondays and Fridays. This will give us the appropriate time to handle and isolate goods for 72 hours before safely stocking items in our shops. At this moment in time, our Heald Green shop will only be accepting donations from pre-booked appointments, which you can book by ringing 0161 222 0574. Due to limited space, we are asking that you ring the shop beforehand if you do want to make a donation.

Please note, customers will not be able to try on items, but we will accept returns if the item still has the labels attached and proof of purchase is presented.

Our trading team are continuing to review government guidelines to ensure our shops offer a safe environment for customers and volunteers. With this, we will be limiting the number of people in each shop and putting in measures to ensure everyone is two meters apart.

For more information on donations, shopping and house clearances, please email tradingadmin@sah.org.uk.

Online Shopping

Our online shops on eBay and Amazon are back open, now with even more items, from clothes to accessories, to collectables and more. All our items will be safely packaged and shipped directly to your door!

It’s a quick and easy way to support St Ann’s, whilst also grabbing yourself a bargain.

Click to shop with either eBay or Amazon.

Collections

Our collection service is open, but you will need to book an appointment to schedule this in, and you can do so by emailing tradingadmin@sah.org.uk

We will ask a series of questions before booking you in to ensure all parties remain safe. Our drivers will not enter the property and would ask that items are left outside your home or in a safe space. We will ring 30 minutes prior to collection to give you enough time to position your items for safe collection.

House Clearances

Our house clearance service will resume, and you can contact tradingadmin@sah.org.uk to book an appointment. Please note, you will be asked a number of questions before we commit to clearing the house.

Upon agreement, we will have a member of our team come out and view the property at a safe distance and with PPE. They will give you a quote, and if accepted, we will arrange a time for the clearance and ask that the keys are stored in a safe place on the day.

We ask that people don’t come on the day to ensure our staff remain safe when emptying the property.

Bridal Shop

Our specialist Bridal Shop is now open and we are taking bookings for either one hour or 1.5-hour slots over the coming months, however, this is subject to government guidelines, and slots could be postponed or rearranged. All appointments booked will be in advance.

We will be open for fittings and before and after every appointment, the shop will have a deep clean to ensure both staff and customers remain safe.

We do recommend booking in as soon as possible as the bridal shop is very popular in demand and spaces fill up quickly. To book an appointment, please email tradingadmin@sah.org.uk

Our shop is now open from 11am-4pm, Monday to Saturday.

Donation Drive Thru

The date for our next Donation Drive Thru is Saturday 10th October from 10am – 12pm.

We will have social distancing measure in place and we’ll direct you to a specific area where you can donate your items. These will then be isolated for 72 hours. Previously, our team would unload items for you, however, to keep staff safe we are asking that you unload the items yourself in the designated area.

We will also be limiting the number of donators to one car at a time to ensure everyone remains safe.

The address for the drive thrus is: St Ann’s Hospice Distribution Centre, Bankfield Industrial Estate, Unit A1, Coronation Street, Reddish, SK5 7SE

Our Lottery

Our weekly lottery continues to operate without interruption and we will publish the weekly results on our website as normal. You can still join our lottery online here.

Due to restrictions on face to face fundraising, we don’t have any lottery representatives promoting our lottery in person, at venues or door to door, but we are promoting our lottery remotely with a telephone campaign. Details can be found on our lottery website. If you believe you have been visited at home by a bogus caller, please email lottery@sah.org.uk or call 0161 498 3624, our Lottery Team will be on hand to help.

Distribution Centre Sale

The date for our next Distribution Centre Sale will be announced shortly.

Sadly, we won’t be able to take donations during the sale and we will have social distancing measures in place and a hand sanitising station at the door.

Our Centre is located on Bankfield Industrial Estate, Unit A1, Coronation Street, Reddish, SK5 7SE.

For more information please email tradingadmin@sah.org.uk.

Christmas Pop-up Shop

This year we’re hosting a two Christmas pop-up shop at our Distribution Centre from the 6th to the 7th of November. From 10am – 3pm we will be selling new and donated Christmas lines, decorations, gifts and cards plus many more items.

Alongside our Christmas items, we’ll be selling donated bric a brac, books, household and small items of furniture and pictures etc.

Our Centre is located on Bankfield Industrial Estate, Unit A1, Coronation Street, Reddish, SK5 7SE.

For more information please email tradingadmin@sah.org.uk.

Can you help?

Our hospice shops are in urgent need of volunteers who will help run, maintain and sort through donations. We’ll be following government guidelines strictly to ensure every team member remains safe and offering training to help get our shops open to customers.

We will be offering a debrief before becoming a volunteer with clear instructions on how to stay safe. All tills will be shielded, and we’ll use floor markers to ensure two-meter distancing. In larger stores, we will also have a one-way system in place.

The hospice shops generate a large amount of income that helps our dedicated staff to continue to deliver outstanding care and support to patients and their loved ones.

By sparing a few hours each week, you can help provide a service to the local community whilst also raising much-needed funds for St Ann’s.

If you’d like to volunteer with St Ann’s, then click the link below to fill out an application and find out more about what your role will be and how you can help St Ann’s.

You need to be over 16 to become a volunteer, and we ask that for now, if you can volunteer at the open shops.
