Staff development
Excellent training opportunities
Training and development is very important to us here at St Ann’s. There are a number of internal training courses and in addition, there are opportunities for formal education / training in the form of attending courses, further education, attending seminars and more.
Involve (staff representative group)
Involve is an informal group that meets four times a year. Staff representatives from across the hospice meet to discuss and get feedback around key areas.
Clinical supervision
Clinical supervision is an activity that brings skilled supervisors and practitioners together in order to reflect upon their practice. It is a time for nurses to think about their knowledge and skills and how they may be developed to improve care.
Annual staff celebration event
As well as recognising the staff and volunteers achieving long service, each year additional awards are presented on behalf of the Trustees to recognise and acknowledge individual and team contributions.
In-house manager training programme
St Ann’s runs two comprehensive leadership and management development programmes: Inspire for all current leaders and Aspire for staff who aspire to make the next steps to a leadership role.
Leadership development
In addition to the in-house manager training programmes, leaders at St Ann’s are part of the hospice Leadership Exchange Network. The network has been developed to encourage innovation, collaboration, empowerment and communication across the hospice.
