Mental Health First Aiders

Mental Health First Aiders help make sure that anyone who is struggling with their mental health can get the help they need much earlier on.

Mental Health First Aiders are trained members of staff at St Ann’s, but they are not a trained counsellors or psychotherapists.

They are friendly, approachable and non-judgemental. They are here to listen, and can help signpost you to more support if you’d like. It’s completely confidential.

If someone needed it, they are able to spot warning signs and then signpost (or accompany in a high-risk situation) a member of staff to specialist medical support, such as their GP or A&E.
