The Role

The Banks Maintenance/Driver will:

  • Carry out general maintenance requests from all departments as and when required.
  • be able to  service and repair the hospice buildings equipment and its grounds to a high standard.
  • Collect and deliver hospice supplies as and when necessary.
  • Transport patients to and from the hospice.
  • Set up rooms for meetings.
  • Be responsible for the upkeep and reporting of vehicle maintenance.
  • Convey patients as and when required for hospital appointments and home visits.
  • Carry out weekly, monthly and quarterly check lists.
  • Perform PAT testing and manage the equipment register
  • Work to statuary health and safety standards in line within our hospice policies

Requirements

The Bank Maintenance/Driver will;

  • Have a full clean driving license.
  • Have some experience of completing basic maintenance tasks
  • Be over the age of 25 for insurance purposes.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and be reliable and a team player.
  • Be able to communicate effectively

The Bank Maintenance/Driver will be able to;

  • Carry out general maintenance requests from all departments as required.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment within the hospice departments and other areas as required.
  • Attend all mandatory training.
  • Liaise with external suppliers.
  • Ensure all works carried out by external contracts are of the required standard.
  • Record safety procedures and fire alarm testing records accurately.

As the Outpatient Assistant Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality palliative care to our patients. This non-occupational specific role has been developed to support our outpatient and outreach services. The Outpatient Assistant Practitioner will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal colleagues and external referrers/stakeholders to support timely and efficient access to outpatient service provision and discharge from outpatient services.

The Person

We are looking for someone holds an Assistant Practitioner Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care. You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in delivering health or social care in a similar role. If you have completed communication skills training, that would be an advantage.

In this role, you’ll need to be proactive, using your initiative to manage your time and workload effectively, especially when faced with competing tasks. Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Teams, are important. Additionally, we value someone who can identify their own development needs and demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development.

You should have a solid understanding of specialist palliative care and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems, such as EMIS Web, and the ability to update care records accurately is essential. Maintaining strict confidentiality is a must, as is working with patients in a kind, empathetic, and person-centred way, aligning with our clinical strategy.

Counsellor

The Role

  • Assessment, planning and delivery of counselling and theraputic interventions to a consistently high standard in the context of specialist palliative and supportive care.
  • Foster good working relationships and communicate with members of the multi-disciplinary team, other healthcare professional and users of the service to ensure the delivery of high standards of effective specialist palliative and supportive care.
  • Act in accordance with The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Requirements

  • Be qualified with, at a minimum, a Diploma or equivalent (Level 4) in Counselling.
  • Have post qualifying experience of working in a health, or social care setting.

St Ann’s Hospice is seeking an expert administrator in the field of HR with experience of leading teams to lead, manage and support our HR administration team of two and support our mission of providing exceptional, end-of-life care to our patients and their families. 

It’s an exciting time to be part of the team as we begin a digital transformation journey incorporating the implementation of a new HR system. There’ll be significant opportunity to be involved and develop or build on existing skills and experience in this area. 

The role is for a 12month fixed term to cover maternity leave and you can expect a rough split of 30% leading and managing the team and 70% ‘hands-on’ supporting the with the work itself. 

Job Overview
As the HR Administration Team Leader, you will oversee our HR administration team, ensuring smooth and effective HR operations.  

This role combines leadership, and a keen eye for detail as you collaborate with hospice managers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of key HR processes across the full employee lifecycle :

Experience and skills

Job summary

The Staff Nurse will assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of specialist palliative and supportive patient care in a caring, compassionate and sensitive manner.

The Staff Nurse plays an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team and has strong working relationships with other healthcare providers.

The Staff Nurse assists in the management and organisation of work as required, ensuring effective communication and the maintenance of high standards of quality patient care on a shift basis.

The Staff Nurse plays a key role in the supervision and assessment of all learners and unregistered staff, providing a teaching role and acting as a named mentor.

St Ann’s delivers a service across three sites. Whilst you will have a specific base, there may be occasions where you are required to provide cross-site / service cover.

The Role

  • Take overall responsibility for the coordination and safe effective management of the Inpatient Unit (IPU) on a shift-by-shift basis as delegated by the IPU Manager / Sister / Charge Nurse.
  • Undertake comprehensive health care needs assessment of patients, reassessing as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other health care professionals in the delivery of high standards of effective holistic care.
  • Lead on the delivery of specialist palliative and supportive care, ensuring individual care needs are assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated.
  • Use professional judgement when assessing patient needs / problems and investigations requiring analysis and intervention.
  • Organise own time and that of junior learners.
  • Promote the safeguarding of vulnerable patients in line with national and local policy.

People and Education Admin Team Leader

At St Ann’s, there’s one thing that motivates us, and that’s providing excellent care and support to those living with or affected by life-limiting illnesses.

St Ann’s Hospice is seeking an expert administrator in the field of HR with experience of leading teams to lead, manage and support our HR administration team of two and support our mission of providing exceptional, end-of-life care to our patients and their families. 

It’s an exciting time to be part of the team as we begin a digital transformation journey incorporating the implementation of a new HR system. There’ll be significant opportunity to be involved and develop or build on existing skills and experience in this area. 

The role is for a 12month fixed term to cover maternity leave and you can expect a rough split of 30% leading and managing the team and 70% ‘hands-on’ supporting the with the work itself. 

Job Overview
As the HR Administration Team Leader, you will oversee our HR administration team, ensuring smooth and effective HR operations.  

This role combines leadership, and a keen eye for detail as you collaborate with hospice managers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of key HR processes across the full employee lifecycle : 

  • Recruitment 
  • Onboarding 
  • Training 
  • Contract changes 
  • Leavers 

Responsibilities 

  • Leading and managing the HR administration team; 121 meetings, performance management and development, absence management and all employee relations matters 
  • HR administration including recruitment, onboarding, training processes  
  • Preparing and issuing offer letters and contracts 
  • Carrying out pre-employment background checks – DBS, Right to work, reference checks 
  • Collating payroll information 
  • Administrating of MAT, PAT, Adoption and Shared Parental leave processes 
  • Coordinating the leavers process 
  • Reporting on status of training and learning activities 
  • Maintaining confidential employee records  
  • Overseeing the administration of hospice wide training activities 
  • Coordinating the administration of student placements 

Experience and skills 

  • A good standard of general education to a minimum of GCSE grade C / 4 – A* / 9 (or equivalent ) 
  • NVQ 3 in Business administration (or equivalent experience) 
  • Experience of HR, including recruitment & onboarding, training administration processes in any industry 
  • Leading and managing a small team of direct reports 
  • Handling data, producing reports 
  • Handling confidential and sensitive information 
  • Computer skills – Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, Sharepoint), HR systems (Ciphr would be an advantage) 
  • The ability to travel independently to both St Ann’s Hospice sites (Heald Green 4 days and Little Hulton 1 day per week) 

Contract: This position will be a 12-month fixed term position, starting January 2025

Salary: Band 4 £26,541per annum, Competency Based Framework

Working pattern: 37.5 hours per week over 5 days (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm)

Based at: Heald Green, with one day a week at Little Hulton
