Trainee Outpatient Assistant Practitioner ( Internal Only)

This opportunity is part of an Apprenticeship scheme and the postholder will undertake the Health & Social Care Assistant Practitioner (Health) Higher Apprenticeship, Level 4 during the first 2 years in post. On successful completion of this, they will be appointed to the Band 4, Outpatient Assistant Practitioner position.

  • Do you have you experience to deliver specialist/individualised palliative care in an outpatient setting?
  • Are you committed to engage in a two-year apprenticeship programme?
  • Do you have the skills required to facilitate support to patients in a group setting and the confidence to promote and discuss Being You Centre and other hospice services externally?
  • You must be passionate about our patients, be committed to change and supporting the organisation in delivering specialist palliative care and committed to and motivated by our values.

Contract: We are pleased to be able to offer this post as a fixed term contract.  Permanent on successful completion of apprenticeship.  This is for internal candidates only

Salary: St Ann’s Band 3 (£22,893 -£24,3970 Competency Based Framework,  pro rata,  for the duration of training.  Band 4 on successful completion of the training programme.

Working pattern: 30 Hours per week, pro rata

An exciting opportunity has arisen following a review of the leadership structure of Clinical Services.

A new position of Deputy Head of Clinical Services has been introduced, reporting to the Head of Clinical Services and CQC Registered Manager.

The post holder will work within the policy framework of the hospice in the provision of specialist palliative and supportive care by ensuring that the work of clinical services meets the aims and objectives of the organisation.

Deputy Head of Clinical Services (Internal Only)

Locum Specialist Doctor in Palliative Medicine

Full Time or Part Time

(6 -10 Programmed Activities including on call)

6 month Fixed Term Contract – available from August 2017.

Our Heald Green site has a 27 bedded In-patient Unit and also provides Day Therapy Services.  The post is supported by Consultants in Palliative Medicine, an Associate Specialist and team of Medical Officers, Specialist Registrar’s, Specialty Trainees and Foundation Year 2 doctors.

A vacancy has arisen because of non-recruitment to a 6 month rotational GPST post at the hospice.

Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC, ideally have a minimum of 4 years post-registration training, some of which must be in a relevant speciality (including General Practice).  The post offers excellent experience and training in palliative medicine for those doctors interested in palliative medicine either as a career or for professional development.

Salary will be based on appropriate NHS scales, according to qualifications and experience.

This post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring check, the cost of which is covered by the hospice.
