St Ann's festival choir

Our St Ann’s Festival Choir is inviting guests to its ‘Come and Sing’ Day at St Michael and All Angels Church in Bramhall on Saturday, October 14.

Keen singers are asked to raise their voices, spending a day rehearsing under the expert guidance of John Pomphrey, Founder and Music Director.

It will be followed by an informal performance of excerpts from two well-known works ‘The Armed Man’ by Karl Jenkins  and ‘Sea Song Suite’ written by Mark Jacobs with many recognisable tunes.

The choir, formed in 1991, is highly regarded in musical circles and brings in around £20,000 a year for us.

Chair Rosemary Murray said: “We had to turn people away last year because it was so popular and we encourage anyone interested in attending our Come and Sing Day to register quickly.”

“We’ve had great feedback from people who say it’s rewarding, inspiring and an enjoyable gathering. It’s very relaxed and singers are amazed by the quality of sound and sense of achievement.

“Everyone is welcome. It’s an opportunity to give something back by raising funds for the hospice and we’re always on the lookout for new choir members.”

The deadline to register is Sept 22. The fee is £20 including music and the day lasts from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. Booking forms are available from www.hospicechoir.org
