Advice for professionals

Our aim is to provide appropriate advice and support for healthcare professionals. The information provided here focuses on helping health and social care professionals provide the best care for patients who maybe at home, in hospital or in a care home.

To gain access to most of the services offered by St Ann’s Hospice, a person needs to be referred by a medical consultant, GP or specialist palliative care nurse through completion of our referral form. Perhaps because of misconceptions as to how a hospice can help, we are often not contacted early in a person’s illness. But the sooner we are contacted, the more we can help.

We provide three types of support:
