Christmas fairs raise more than £7,000 for St Ann’s

St Ann’s annual Christmas fairs have raised more than £7,000 for the hospice thanks to the generous support of the local community. The fairs are one of the highlights of the annual fundraising calendar, and are always attended by large groups of local people keen to find a festive bargain or two whilst supporting St Ann’s.

The first fair was held on Saturday 24th November at St Ann’s in Little Hulton, while the second took place on Sunday 25th Novemember at St Ann’s in Heald Green. Highlights included festive music from local groups, Santa’s Grotto, festive stalls, children’s crafts, tombola, raffles, and plenty of refreshments for visitors, including the obligatory mince pies and mulled wine.

It was amazing to see so many people from our local communities coming together to enjoy the Christmas fairs, and we’re thrilled to have raised so much money for our patients and their families. We all have a lot of commitments at this time of year, and it’s so heart-warming that people from across Greater Manchester make time to come along and join us in this way.
We only receive around a third of our funding from the NHS so we have to fundraise the rest – around £20,000 a day – to keep our services at our three hospices sites and our community and outreach care provision going for local patients. We’re hugely grateful, as always, to everyone who supports the hospice. We can’t thank you all enough. Eamonn O'Neal, Chief Executive
