My family and I are so excited to be taking part in our first St Ann’s Hospice Manchester Midnight Walk in a few weeks!

We all have a special connection to the charity after my mum, Margaret, was cared for by the hospice in her final years before she died of lung cancer in 2020.

My dad, Keith, is 94 years old and can’t wait to take part in the walk! He received a flyer about the event through the post and we’ve gathered family members to take part and walk with him.

As one of the oldest people to be taking part in the Midnight Walk my dad is lucky enough to have the number 94 for the event! Alison Boden, Fundraiser

We will have three generations of our family walking together and we’re all trying to raise as much money as possible for St Ann’s Hospice. My son and daughter, along with their loved ones, are coming to Manchester so that we can all support my dad which will mean so much to us.

My dad is in a wheelchair so hasn’t been able to explore Manchester city centre recently, so we’re excited for him to experience the city again!

My dad’s goal for the Midnight Walk is to walk over the start and finish line, and we’re determined to make this happen for him.

The hospice did so much for mum who we miss every day, the nurses were brilliant and gave her the best end of life care we could’ve hoped for. It was so nice to have someone other than a family member to talk to and we all really treasured that.

We’re really excited to take part and meet lots of other people who have lovely connections to the hospice. Raising as much money as possible in memory of my mum would be brilliant so we can support St Ann’s which means so much to us all.

For groups of four or more like my family you can get a discounted price of £15 per person, so get your friends and family together to take part in the event!
