Frequently asked questions

  • What is the 12 Days of Festive Fitness Bingo all about?

The 12 Days of Festive Fitness Bingo is a fundraising challenge for St Ann’s Hospice. Join lots of  incredible St Ann’s Hospice supporters in taking on 12 Days of Festive Fitness from 1st – 12th December.  You can complete your exercises indoors, in your own time and at your own pace.  The important thing is to get moving to raise funds for those who need us most.

  • How do I get started?

The first thing to do is to join our Facebook Group.  Click Join Now to register, get your free Santa hat and bingo card and meet the other amazing fundraisers also doing the challenge.

  • Do I have to be on Facebook to take part?

You can still take part if you aren’t on Facebook by registering with this link and then setting up a JustGiving page. However if you are on Facebook, it really helps us if you fundraise through that platform. We’re a small team and using the platform helps us provide you with more support and it helps us streamline our admin.

  • Do I have to use Facebook Fundraising or can I set-up a JustGiving page?

As the challenge is being run through Facebook it would be great if all participants could fundraise through the Facebook fundraiser provided as it helps us to easily monitor the event and to minimise costs. However, if you prefer to use JustGiving, please register for the challenge using this link.

  • Can I just set up a JustGiving page?

To set up a JustGiving page, please click Start Fundraising from this link

  • Is there a minimum fundraising amount?

For this challenge we have set a sponsorship target of £150 however we just ask that you set up a fundraising page and do your very best! Your fundraising will go to St Ann’s Hospice and help us to continue to provide our services.

  • Can I be sponsored by someone who is not on Facebook?

If someone would like to donate to your challenge and they don’t have Facebook the best thing is to collect their donation offline and then donate it directly to your fundraiser yourself.  We will also provide paper sponsorship forms when we send out your Santa hat and bingo card.  Alternatively people can donate online here and put in the comments that they are sponsoring you.

  • How should I track my exercise?

We will send you a bingo card which lists the daily exercises, so you can tick them off each day and share with the group and on your fundraising page.

  • Any other questions?

Christmas tree recycling 2025

The Manchester Christmas Tree Recycling scheme is back, bigger than ever!

This January, we are once again working with national charity Just Helping to collect and recycle real Christmas trees to raise funds for St Ann’s Hospice, Francis House Children’s Hospice and other local charities in the community.

Residents are invited to register their real Christmas tree for collection, with donations warmly welcomed. Friendly volunteers will collect and recycle your tree, hassle-free – no trips to the tip, no needles in your car,  no waste! The trees are chipped and repurposed to support pathways and forest management in local parks, including Wythenshawe Park.

The January 2024 Manchester collection raised over £100,000 for Greater Manchester charities, with net proceeds distributed to St Ann’s Hospice, Francis House Children’s Hospice, JustHelping, and other local causes. Our 2025 goal is even higher, and with your support, we hope to accomplish it.

This year’s collection is proudly sponsored by Caddick Construction, helping to ensure that more funds directly benefit local patients and their families.

Register your tree

Register for your tree collection via the Just Helping website.

The deadline for registering your tree has now been extended to Wednesday 8th January 2025.

Collection dates

Your tree will be collected by our volunteers between Thursday 9th and Sunday 12th January 2025.

Get in touch

Just Helping are leading on the coordination of the Manchester collection. If you have any queries, please use the query zone and FAQs on their website. If you need any support, please email admin@just-helping.org.uk.
