Competitive salaries

At St Ann’s we recognise recruiting and retaining high performing individuals is key to delivering our strategic aims. One of the ways this is achieved is through the hospice’s pay structure.

Competency Frameworks are used to determine pay levels on appointment to a post and also pay progression while in post. Individual competencies within the Competency Frameworks are aligned with qualifications, knowledge and skills.

Enhanced Maternity, Paternity & Adoption pay

The hospice offers enhanced maternity and adoption pay at:

  • 8 weeks’ full pay inclusive of SMP / SAP (Statutory Maternity Pay / Statutory Adoption Pay)
  • 10 weeks’ half pay plus SMP / SAP (if this payment exceeds full pay then the amount paid would be reduced so that the employee does not receive more than full pay for this period.

The hospice also offers enhanced Paternity pay.

Contributory stakeholder pension scheme

The St Ann’s Stakeholder Pension Scheme is a contributory scheme, with employees choosing their percentage of contribution. The hospice will then match this contribution up to a maximum of 7%. The Pension scheme is with Scottish Widows.

Previous members of the NHS Pension Scheme may have the option to remain in the scheme (subject to making contributions into the scheme in the previous 12 months) and the hospice would pay the employers contributions.

Life cover

The Group Life Assurance Scheme provides employees in the St Ann’s Stakeholder Pension Scheme with a lump sum life cover of three times their basic salary in the event of your death whilst employed by St Ann’s Hospice.
