Job summary

  • The physiotherapist will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team. They will be a role model for clinical staff; demonstrating a professional and proactive approach to providing rehabilitative advice and support to patients with life limiting illnesses.
  • The physiotherapist will work with rehabilitation team colleagues to deliver a physiotherapy service for the hospice. They will need to be able to prioritise and work efficiently to ensure the complex needs of in-patients and outpatients are met in a timely manner.
  • The physiotherapist will actively participate in developing cross-site physiotherapy services at the hospice.
  • The physiotherapist will be aware of and deliver services in line with best practice guidelines and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission in order to ensure the aims and objectives of the organisation are met.

The Role

  • Assess patients with complex needs and provide specialist physiotherapy advice/treatment plans.
  • Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist physiotherapy advice.
  • Co-ordinate and deliver the in and out patient Physiotherapy service at Little Hulton in conjunction with colleagues.
  • Contribute to training on topics relevant to physiotherapy in palliative care at the hospice.
  • Support and mentor the Rehabilitation Assistant Practitioner.

The Person

  • Are you an experienced Physiotherapist with interest or skills in Palliative Care?
  • Can you demonstrate the ability to work as an effective team member, managing competing priorities?
  • You must be passionate about our patients and a collaborative colleague
  • Most importantly, you must be wholeheartedly committed to and motivated by the purpose and values of St Ann’s Hospice
  • Hold a diploma/BSc Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Be registered with HCPC
