Staff at a Sale cleaning company will happily get into a right mess at a fun run in aid of St Ann’s

Martin was a patient at the hospice for six weeks before he died of bowel cancer in 2010, aged 61. He set up the commercial cleaning and facilities service provider 45 years ago and the company now employs 1,300 people.

Daughter Nina, from Cheadle Hulme, will lead a 12-strong team from Floorbrite where she is Marketing Director. Sons Gabriel (10) and Lucian (8) will join their mum in the 5 km event which sees fun runners showered in colourful powder.

St Ann's did a wonderful job caring for Martin and we can't thank them enough. I also received counselling from the hospice and I'd encourage anyone in a similar position to seek their specialist comfort and support because it helped me enormously. Linda, Martin's wife and Chairman of Floorbrite

More than 2,000 people are expected to walk or jog the Obstacolour Run raising vital funds for the hospice. The first wave starts at 11 am and the coloured powder used is environmentally-friendly corn starch.

The message from St Ann’s to participants tackling inflatable obstacles, which are optional, is to ‘start in white and end up bright’. Entry is £15 and £12 for groups of five or more. Child entry (aged 6-17) is £10 and under 5s are free.
