Manchester Midnight Walk update

By News Team on March 10, 2020

Our flagship fundraising event, the sponsored Manchester Midnight Walk, is one of our highlights of the year.

Unfortunately, this year we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the event. Due to the outbreak of Covid 19 (Coronavirus) in the UK and around the world, we’ve made this decision to ensure we can run a safe and healthy event.

Our 10km moonlit walk will now take place on Friday 19 June 2020.

We’re committed to the well-being of all of our supporters, staff, and volunteers. If there is a peak in the virus, as currently expected, we could not guarantee the appropriate levels of staffing to run a safe event. In addition, as a hospice we provide services to people who would fall into the category of ‘vulnerable individuals’ so we simply can’t take any unnecessary risks in regards to health and well-being.

We will continue to monitor the situation with the health and safety of our participants paramount in regard to the new date.

We hope that our amazing supporters will ‘bee’ able to attend our new date on Friday 19 June 2020. If you’ve already got a place, we will automatically transfer your place unless we hear from you.

Help us fill our honey pot with lots of money to support local patients. Book your place for our new summer date online.

The 10k moonlit walk will start and finish at the beautiful Manchester Cathedral, and we’re sticking with the wildly popular bee theme for 2020. We look forward to getting Manchester ‘Buzzing’!

If you’re unable to make this new date and would like a refund, or have any queries about this update, then please contact our events team by emailing events@sah.org.uk or by calling 0161 498 3631.
