A dedicated supporter of St Ann’s Hospice is opening her garden to the public again to raise money for our new hospice building in Heald Green.

Elaine Land is opening her garden on Sunday 28th May for people to go and visit it in support of the Build It Together campaign. Having opened her garden to the public for more than 25 years as part of the National Garden Scheme, Elaine is excited to gather people again this summer.

Last year was the first year Elaine held an open garden event to fundraise for the hospice and raised over £1100! After last year’s event Elaine said “Gardening is a huge passion of mine, and a big part of my life. So it’s a pleasure to share it with other people and it’s an excellent way to fundraise.”

In anticipation of the opening this year, Elaine says:

I’m delighted to be opening my garden again this year in support of St Ann’s much-needed new hospice in Heald Green. The garden is looking particularly lovely at the moment with the fabulous Wisteria and Candelabra Primulas in the pond area in full bloom. I know an awful lot of people that raise money for hospices, and I wanted to do something local to me. Elaine Land, St Ann's Hospice supporter

The Build It Together campaign is raising the final £2 million that we need to build our new hospice. This will replace our current Victorian building, which is in urgent need of replacement as it needs continual and costly repairs.

We are incredibly grateful for Elaine’s support of our Build It Together campaign. It is only through the support of the community that the new building will become a reality. We are very excited to see her garden come to life with people, plants and everything in between! Anne-Marie Wynne, Head of Fundraising and Capital Campaign

Elaine’s garden will be open from 2pm until 6pm on Sunday 28th May and can be found at 73 Hill Top Avenue, Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, SK8 7HZ. There will also be plants for sale and refreshments available.

The admission for the garden is £4 for adults, with children entering for free. All proceeds will go towards St Ann’s Hospice’s Build It Together appeal.
