Three-year partnership with the Trafford Centre raises £118,000
Our partnership with The Trafford Centre has ended and we are so proud to announce that it raised an amazing £118,785.89 for St Ann’s Hospice since it began in November 2019.
We can’t thank the Trafford Centre enough for facilitating the money raised through allowing us to hold fundraising events and activities in their spaces, donations of coins collected from the Trafford Centre’s fountains, lost property donations and gifts in kind.
The three-year partnership initially funded 32 syringe drivers for St Ann’s, and more recently raised money towards our Build it Together appeal for a new purpose-built hospice.
During the partnership, a very special moment for us was being able to celebrate St Ann’s Hospice’s 50th birthday with a visual art installation at the Trafford Centre, which was a great way to commemorate our time with patients, families and staff over the years.
Lots of staff were able to speak to people who came to the Trafford Centre and share memories of their experience with our hospice, which was very poignant, especially for the nurses and clinical staff who were remembered by families for treating their loved ones.
At this event and subsequent awareness events for our Build it Together appeal, we spoke to people who hadn’t heard of our hospice, but we were able to open conversations about what we do in the community and why we are raising money for a new purpose-built hospice building.
Trafford Centre is an active part of the community, and we’re passionate about supporting local charities and causes. It was a pleasure to work with St Ann’s Hospice as part of our Fountain Fund scheme, and hope the funds raised at the Centre have been a huge support for local people and their families Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre
Anne-Marie Wynne, Head of Fundraising and Capital Campaign, says: “This partnership with the Trafford Centre has been instrumental in first funding our syringe drivers, which has been fundamental for the local community, and also raising much-needed funds for our Built it Together campaign.
“We have now raised over £900,000 for our new hospice building, and we are so grateful for the money we have been able to collect through this partnership from the Trafford Centre facilitating our fundraising needs.”
Trafford Centre Community Development Manager Richa Patel presented St Ann’s Chief Executive Rachel McMillan and members of our Fundraising and Hospice@Home teams with a cheque for the total raised in September this year.
