Fundraising for our new hospice
It is possible to choose to fundraise for St Ann’s so that all the funds that you raise helps pay towards our new hospice in Heald Green.
This is a popular choice with many of our supporters, including for people who have a close association with our Heald Green hospice – for example if a family member or loved one was cared for there.
Raising the money to pay for our purpose-built new hospice, on top of the £20,000 per day that as a charity we need to raise to stay open is no easy task.
In total, our new hospice will cost £22 million. We are so close to having all the funds we need to start the build, including over £500,000 since our public fundraising appeal launched in June 2022.
We welcome any donation amount, and it is possible to fundraise to pay for a specific item – from a solar panel for our roof, to a new private patient bedroom!
We are very grateful to everyone who chooses to fundraise specifically to help pay towards our purpose-built new hospice, which will transform end-of-life and palliative care provision for the people of Greater Manchester.
Why do we need a new hospice in Heald Green?
Our current hospice building has served us well but will not meet the needs of future generations.
The current building in Heald Green wasn’t built as a hospice. We have very few private patient bedrooms, no piped oxgen and corridors are cramped. Storage space is limited.
Our new Heald Green hospice will house a 21-bed inpatient unit including individual en-suite rooms and access to private outdoor terraces. It will be one of the most modern facilities in the UK featuring modern outpatient and day therapy services, dedicated bereavement and family support spaces, all surrounded by beautiful, landscaped gardens.

- £1000 could help buy a window for our new hospice
- £22,000 could buy a family breakout room
- £33,000 could buy a counselling room
- £49,500 could pay for one of our private new bedrooms
