Support St Ann’s this Christmas

Your donation, no matter how big or small, is invaluable to our charity and the families we're caring for this Christmas.

Our 2023 Christmas appeal has now ended – thank you so much to everyone who donated. If you would like to make a donation to St Ann’s, click here.

St Ann’s is here for patients like Bernard, and has been here for our community for over 50 years.

Bernard is an outpatient at The Being You Centre at St Ann’s. He can no longer walk due to breathing difficulties, and has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) at Stage 4 end-of-life. He worked at a rubber factory for 18 years, and his doctor suspected that the fumes from the factory caused damage to his lungs.

Before starting my treatment at St Ann’s last year, I felt I could no longer go on. I used to wake up and wonder why I was still here. St Ann’s Hospice has given me a reason to continue to live. This Christmas I’d be lost without their support. Bernard Whipday, Outpatient, St Ann's Hospice

Bernard now attends sessions at The Being You Centre at least twice a week. He has received counselling, complementary therapy, physiotherapy to ease his breathlessness, and occupational therapy to manage his fatigue.

I enjoy the sessions so much. I’d come every day if I could. St Ann’s has been a godsend for me and my family. Now, I get up in the morning and can’t wait to come here in my wheelchair. It means so much to me. Bernard Whipday, Outpatient, St Ann's Hospice

St Ann’s provides all of these services free of charge, but this wouldn’t be possible without kind donations from people like you. Fundraising is essential to the running of the hospice.

Without sufficient funds, others like me won’t receive the help I do. This Christmas, please donate anything you can to help St Ann’s. It would mean so much to people like me who would be lost without this wonderful place. Bernard Whipday, Outpatient, St Ann's Hospice
