3-day palliative care training programme
A face-to-face training programme designed for health and social care staff who want to enhance their palliative care knowledge and skills.

The 3-day palliative care training programme gives you the opportunity to listen to and talk to members of St Ann’s Hospice’s multidisciplinary team in their specialist fields.
Venue
Delivered face-to-face across our Heald Green and Little Hulton hospice sites. Locations for each date are noted in the ‘current course dates’ section below.

Three non-consecutive days (see course dates below)

Health and social care staff who want to enhance their knowledge and skills in palliative and end-of-life care.
Cost
£210
The cost is per delegate for the 3 days.
Please note: Attendance is required at all three dates to complete the programme and receive a certificate. If you do not attend one of the days, we will not be able to provide a full or partial refund. If you would like a refund for this course you would need to notify us 30 days prior to the first day of training, otherwise no refund will be provided.

Course details
St Ann’s Hospice’s 3-Day Palliative Care Course is run by our Education Team and widely supported by our multidisciplinary team, ensuring you are hearing from experts within each area and giving delegates the opportunity to freely ask questions.
The course covers the following topics:
- Symptom Management and Medication – delivered by an Advanced Clinical Practitioner
- Spiritual Needs at EOL – delivered by a Chaplaincy Support Coordinator
- Unconscious Bias – delivered by our Education and Development Manager
- Lymphoedema – delivered by a Lymphoedema Specialist
- Homelessness in Palliative Care – delivered by a Homeless Palliative Care Coordinator
- Palliative Care Emergencies – delivered by a Consultant
- Dementia at EOL – delivered by our Education Team
- Advanced Care Planning – delivered by a Consultant
- Grief and Bereavement – delivered by our Counselling Team
- Street Drugs – currently supported by Change Grow Live
- Goal Setting – delivered by a Rehab Leader and OT
- Frailty at EOL – delivered by an Advanced Clinical Practitioner
- Communication Skills – delivered by our Education Team
- Oral Care at EOL – delivered by a Mouthcare Specialist

Certificates
Each delegate will have to attend all three days and provide evaluation of the programme to receive a certificate of attendance.
