Team DAY’s Story

A group of colleagues have come together to cycle 100km in the Tour de Manc for St Ann’s Hospice

Five members of the DAY Project Management Team are supporting St Ann’s Hospice by cycling the April 2023 Tour de Manc.

Barry Cleminson, Jack Street, Ryan Crockett, John Glenn and Fiona Mcloughlin are taking on the challenge but all have different strategies for getting to the finish line!

On Sunday 30th April many supporters of St Ann’s Hospice are embarking on their greatest challenge yet as they cycle one of the Tour de Manc routes.

The race takes in the sights of Greater Manchester and invites all of us to enjoy the fantastic atmosphere at this event, all while fundraising St Ann’s Hospice.

With four routes spanning from 50km to 200km, there are a variety of distances to suit riders of all abilities – the Quarter Manc 50km, Half Manc 100km, Classic Full Manc 100 miles, and Mad Manc 200km.

DAY PM is Construction Project Management Consultancy based in Manchester and are a growing local SME with 16 members of staff.

Barry, Director of Project Management, is a regular cyclist, hoping to push himself to get an impressive speed. Jack, Managing Director, hasn’t done a cycle challenge at this distance but he’s enthusiastic to push the team for St Ann’s Hospice.

Ryan, Project Manager, has a new found hobby for cycling, so is excited about taking part and spreading the word of the great work the hospice does. John, Senior Project Manager, is a keen cyclist full of great chat and is another great motivator for the team to complete the challenge.

Fiona, Senior Project Manager, is a resident of Heald Green and lives very close to the hospice, with this challenge being close to her heart as she drives past it most days.

Fiona says: “Fundraising for St Ann’s Hospice is high up on the list for our social value commitments this spring. We’re aiming to hit £500 as a fundraising target for completing the 100km route – the Manc Challenge.

“St Ann’s Hospice is a special charity close to our hearts. As a Manchester based business and as St Ann’s is a Manchester based hospice, we’re all really keen to push ourselves (a long way) out of our comfort zones to raise vital funds.”

All money raised by the team will go towards the hospice’s Build It Together campaign, raising money to build the new hospice that they’re so desperately in need of at the Heald Green site.

Liz Greenwood, Capital Partnerships Fundraiser, says: “We’re really excited to see everyone cycling for #TeamStAnns, bringing together lots of people who are so brilliantly supporting our hospice.

“We’re hoping to have our biggest team yet taking part in the Tour de Manc. It’s a great day with everyone coming together to cheer on our cyclists!”
